Welcome Back! ---- A rare 'thoughtful' side...

What makes me so positive that I'm getting old (30), and that the same brand of progressive knowledge that my elders possessed when I was a kid is now within me, is that I remember the world before the internet.

There were always those who were fascinated when their parents or grandparents could recall aloud the world before home radio, televisions, or computers... and now a specific generation of people, fed entertainment and the last of the disciplinarians as children, can suddenly seem ancient to the current kings of youth. The older generation will forever scoff at the younger.

Which brings me to the fantastic opportunities that present themselves to me, and the luck I practice appreciating them. Without the happenstance of my birth when it occurred, the movement of the world and incalculable coincidence, I'm able to live my dream from the comfort of a warm chair. No agents, no world travel, no tours, no live performances, etc. I can share my music with whomever cares to hear it, from across the street to across the oceans.

The wonder and elegance of the internet, of all things, is what has helped make my dream possible. All I wanted to do was write music for videogames (did it), and share my music with others who appreciated the genre and sounds just as much, if not more than I (did that, too). I've discovered not only a massive new set of fans on the web, but also gained new friends, met new contacts, formed strong relationships with folks I'd have otherwise never met, and worked hard to build and maintain these communications as best I can.

In fact, if you're even reading this, you're exactly the kind of person I appreciate the most. Without the encouragement and thanks that I receive on an almost daily basis, from far and near, my dream would never have happened, and would not continue.

So! With that, here's to another ten years! Thanks, everyone!
